Wayne W. Dyer, Ph.D., is an internationally renowned author and speaker in the field of self-development. He’s the author of 30 books, has created many audio programs and videos, and has appeared on thousands of television and radio shows. His last books, Manifest Your Destiny and Wisdom of the Ages, were the subjects of two specials for National Public Television. Called the father of motivation by his fans, he is one of the most widely known and respected people in the field of self empowerment. He has been at the forefront of the human potential movement for 25 years. Wayne became a well known author with his best-selling book, "Your Erroneous Zones," and has gone on to write many other self-help classics including "Staying on the Path," "Pulling Your Own Strings," "Everyday Wisdom" and "You'll See It When You Believe It."
Despite his childhood spent in orphanages and foster homes, Wayne has overcome many obstacles to make his dreams come true. Today, he spends much of his time showing others how to do the same. When he's not traveling the globe delivering his uplifting message, he is writing from his Florida home, where he lives with his wife and children.
Wayne received his doctorate in counseling psychology from Wayne State University and the University of Michigan. He has taught at many levels of education from high school to the teaching hospital of Cornell University Medical College. He has also co-authored three textbooks and numerous professional journal articles.
In addition to being an author and teacher, Wayne is a social commentator and has appeared on more than 5,200 television and radio programs including "Oprah," "The Today Show" and "The Tonight Show." In 1985, he was selected as one of six prominent Americans with "A Letter to the Next Generation" appearing in Time magazine.
