    DICK BOLLES, more formally known as Richard Nelson Bolles.

    OCCUPATION: Author, Consultant, Keynote Speaker, and Workshop leader. Dick is the author of a book that has sold 10,000,000 copies, and has been a best-seller for over 30 years. It is in fact the best-selling job-hunting and career-changing book of all time. It has spent over 5 years on the New York Times best-seller list. Was #1 Business Week best-seller in 2006, and #2 for six months in 2007. He is also known as an inspiring speaker, and “master teacher” the world over.

    HISTORY: More than 30 years ago, Dick Bolles was a pioneer in the self-help book field with his "What Color is Your Parachute? A Practical Guide For Job-Hunters And Career-Changers.” It’s first publication date was December 1, 1970. The book, self-published at first, is now commercially published in 20 languages, used in 26 countries around the world, is revised and updated every September. The effect of the book on the lives of its 10 million readers has put Bolles on the Library of Congress’ list of 25 authors, down through history, whose books have helped shape people's lives. (The oldest book on the list is the Bible; the only other living author on the list, besides Bolles, is the poet Maya Angelou.)

    EDUCATION: Studied Chemical Engineering at M.I.T. Graduated with a B.A. (cum laude) in physics from Harvard. Graduated with a Masters Degree in New Testament Studies from General (Episcopal) Seminary in New York City. He is a member of Mensa, and recipient of three honorary doctorates.

    HONORS: National Samaritan Award 2006. Previous honorees include: Karl Menninger, Peter Drucker, Betty Ford, Norman Vincent Peale, Sir John Templeton.

    FAMILY: Wife Marci (from the Philippines), who always travels with him, as they are totally devoted to each other;; she has two grown children from an earlier marriage. Dick has four grown children from an earlier marriage, ten grandchildren. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Son of a newspaperman. The eldest of three children. His sister lives in Hainesport, NJ. His brother, Don Bolles, was a famous reporter who was assassinated in Phoenix AZ, June, 1976. He is memorialized in the new Newseum in D.C.
