Stand-up comedienne and writer Lori Weiss combines her environmental passions and comedic talents in an unique way. This first began when she received her BA in Environmental Biology from the University of Colorado. Soon after graduating, it wasn’t long until she was hired by the federal government, where she worked as a laboratory analyst, examining soil and water samples for toxins that were illegally dumped into the environment. This was followed by a position with a leading brewery in Colorado, where along with analyzing data, they drank an awful lot of beer! After a chance encounter with Joan Rivers, she started writing for her and Lori began her comedy career.

ENTERTAINMENT: 101 SENSATIONAL CRIMES OF FASHION, E! 50 HOTTEST VEGAS MOMENTS, CNN TODAY, SHOWTIME, RASCALS COMEDY HOUR, and THE LOVE BOAT: THE NEXT WAVE as well as NBC and ABC environmental news segments. She recently returned from a USO World Comedy Tour, where she traveled to Singapore, and the South Pacific. Some of the sponsors of the tour were AT&T, and Yahoo.

She has also done warm-up on many television shows including, I’VE GOT A SECRET, EVENING SHADE, HOPE & GLORIA, THE CHEVY CHASE SHOW, TOWNIES and FLYING BLIND, to name a few. She can also be heard on All Comedy Radio as well as on Sirius Satellite. Lori performs at clubs and corporate events around the country.

Some of her corporate clients include, Xerox, Waste Management and the Alternative Fuel Institute. She recently received the Writers Digest Award in the television writing category coming in at the top ten out of 18,000 entries.

She also writes articles for ECO, an environmental organization made up of leaders in the entertainment industry, including Pierce Brosnan, Olivia Newton-John and Woody Harrelson and has just finished writing a pilot titled, Lisa’s Life. “The best way to get a message across is through humor. Through humor, I am able to get each person to think how they can make a difference. I am lucky to have found a way to use my environmental degree in such a creative way,” concludes Lori.
