Lisa Ling regularly files dispatches for the Oprah Winfrey Show as a special correspondent, is a contributor to CNN's critically acclaimed series, Planet in Peril, and is also well known for her stint sharing her no-holds-barred opinions on current events and everyday issues as a co-host of ABC’s hit daytime talk show, The View. Ling fed her sense of adventure as senior war correspondent for Channel One News, visiting violent hot spots around the globe.
Lisa Ling’s experiences as a journalist include everything from covering the looting of the antiquities of war-torn Iraq to sharing tea with the Dalai Lama. She also served as National Geographic Explorer’s first woman host since it premiered two decades ago. As a result of her experiences, Ling is a gifted media speaker who guides audiences on her fascinating journeys reporting on real-life adventures.
She is the co-author of Mother, Daughter, Sister, Bride: Rituals of Womanhood, and Somewhere Inside: One Sister's Captivity in North Korea and The Other's Fight to Bring Her Home, which she penned with her sister, Laura.
In 2011, Ling will premiere her own show, Inside with Lisa Ling, on OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network.
