Lisa Caputo assumed her current role as Managing Director and Senior Banker of the Public Sector Group of Citi's Investment Bank in September 2010. Most recently, Lisa was Executive Vice President, Global Marketing and Corporate Affairs since 2007. Lisa founded Citi's leading women's financial services business, Women & Co., and is currently its Chairman after serving as CEO from 2000-2010. She is the Co-Head of Women4Citi, Citi's women's initiative program.
As Citi's Executive Vice President, Global Marketing and Corporate Affairs, Lisa directed and managed a global integrated marketing, corporate communications/public affairs and community relations strategy for Citi while also serving as the company's Global Chief Marketing Officer. She oversaw the marketing, advertising, branding, consumer insights, media, online marketing, sponsorships, external and internal communications, media relations, issues management, executive communications and community relations operations globally at Citi.
Lisa started Women & Co. when she first joined Citi. Women & Co. helps women build their financial knowledge and create financial strategies through access to financial education, resources and tools, and a community of financially-minded women.
Lisa was Chief Marketing and Community Relations Officer for all of Citi's consumer businesses globally from 2005-2007. From 2003-2005, Lisa was Senior Managing Director, Business Operations and Planning, Citi's Global Consumer Group. Before joining Citi, Lisa held senior executive marketing and communications positions with The Walt Disney Company and The CBS Corporation.
Lisa also spent over a decade in the public sector. She served as Deputy Assistant to the President and Press Secretary to First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton at the White House during President William J. Clinton's first term. She held the same job through the 1992 Clinton-Gore campaign and the presidential transition. Prior to that, Lisa ran Al Gore's media operations at the 1992 Democratic National Convention and was the Press Secretary to U.S. Senator Tim Wirth and to U.S. Representative Bob Traxler. She also was the National Issues Press Secretary for the 1988 Dukakis-Bentsen presidential campaign.
Lisa has received several recognitions for accomplishments in marketing and communications. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of Best Buy Co., Inc., The Sesame Workshop, WNET Channel 13, New Visions for Public Schools, and the Creative Coalition. She sits on the International Steering Committee of FINCA International, Women@NBCU Advisory Board, the Advisory Council on Media Relations for Brown University, and The New York Presbyterian Sloane Hospital Advisory Committee.
Lisa graduated magna cum laude from Brown University (A.B. political science and French) and received a Master's degree in Journalism with highest distinction from Northwestern University.
