    Kathleen Madigan: Profile

Who did Jay Leno call one of America’s funniest female comics on The Howard Stern Show? Who did Gary Shandling ask to be a contributing writer for his 2003/04 Emmy Awards monologue? Who, when recently asked on his show by Tina Fey, did Bob Costas say was one of his favorite comedians? Who was the only comic on NBC’s Last Comic Standing to go unchallenged by fellow comics? Who was the only 5’2’’, Mid-Missouri Hoop Shoot Champion? - St. Louis native comedienne Kathleen Madigan.

Voted Best Female Stand-Up at the American Comedy Awards, Kathleen’s ability to talk about serious topics and draw insane conclusions is the reason she sells out comedy clubs and theaters across the country. The former journalist and Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville graduate's superb timing and polished act has made her a favorite among clubgoers and late-night television audiences. Kathleen starred in her own popular HBO Half-Hour Comedy Special. She is a veteran of NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Conan O'Brien Show and CBS’s The Late Show with David Letterman.

Kathleen has carved out a successful stand-up career and is currently exploring her off-stage talents. She has landed commentary appearances on VH-I’s 50 Greatest Celebrity Feuds, E! Entertainment’s 100 Greatest Celebrity Oops!, Hollywood Squares, CMT, FOX Sports Net’s The Best Damn Sports Show, Style TV’s Style Court and Kathleen is a contributing writer for US Weekly’s Fashion Police.

Currently Kathleen is working on FOX Sports Net’s The List and will be a participant in NBC’s third season of Last Comic Standing.

Comedy Central is a popular venue for Kathleen’s topical, sarcastic take on life’s everyday occurrences. Kathleen landed her first pilot The Couch which was produced by Happy Days alumnus Henry Winkler. She starred in her own half-hour comedy special Comedy Central Presents: Kathleen Madigan and the USO Comedy Tour Special taped for a military audience at Camp Pendelton in San Diego. She recently returned from Melbourne, Australia where she starred in the Comedy Central special The World Comedy Tour.

Kathleen recently released her second CD Shallow Happy Thoughts for the Soul. She will soon be releasing her first DVD titled, The First DVD.

Kathleen makes her home in Los Angeles and ended her brief basketball career after winning the trophy and title of "Mid Missouri Hoop Shoot Champ" and after realizing she was finished growing.

Her goal remains to make enough money to move to Ireland and drink as much Guinness as humanly possible.
