Having your clients advocate for you is your strongest form of client acquisition and retention.” Joanne began her career at Joseph Magnin, which was one of the leading fashion houses in the San Francisco Bay Area. It was there that she developed the mantra that's become the foundation of her extraordinary leadership ability: Doing something that has never been done before can be the best reason for doing it. “If you follow conventional wisdom, chances are you'll never have breakthrough ideas,” says Joanne. After co-founding and operating a successful retail business while still in her twenties, Joanne moved on to sales management positions with Omega Performance, a financial services training and consulting firm, and The Forum Corporation, a global management, consulting and training company where she served clients including Advanced Micro Devices, Hewlett-Packard, Pacific Gas & Electric, Shell Oil, VISA, and Wells Fargo Bank. True to her commitment and philosophy, Joanne has built her business solely on referrals. Her clients include Applied Communications, California State Automobile Association, Charles Schwab, Colliers International, KPMG, M3iworks, The Marlin Company, Mechanics Bank, Tatum, and other premier companies. Joanne Black is a member of the National Speakers Association and regularly speaks at sales and incentive meetings, sales conferences, and association meetings. Joanne holds a B.A. in English from the University of California at Berkeley and a Certificate in Training and Human Resource Development, with Honors, from the University of California Extension.
