Jeff Kreisler

    Jeff Kreisler: Profile
    Award-Winning Satirist, Comedian, & Author

Jeff Kreisler is executive editor of My Wall Street Journal, with writers from The Daily Show, The Onion, Monty Python, and Spinal Tap, creator of a successful multimedia live-sitcom (The Americans), performed with the major US Presidential candidates, and is in the staff and cast of the new project from the co-creator of The Daily Show, Shoot The Messenger. He has written for Comedy Central's Indecision2008, Huffington Post, Jim Cramer's TheStreet.com (Funny Money) and the Independent Film Channel. Kreisler also won the Bill Hicks Spirit Award for Thought Provoking Comedy and is the author of the critically-acclaimed Get Rich Cheating: The Crooked Path to Easy Street (Harper).

Kreisler has had hit shows at the Edinburgh Fringe and Glasgow International Comedy Festivals, has been featured on Fox News, the BBC, BBC-America, CBC, and Current TV, as well as CBS, NPR, and Sirius radio networks. He has also been featured in the Boston Globe, New York Post, and The Scotsman, in addition to numerous other newspapers and magazines. An in demand comedian and keynote speaker, he has spoken at universities, legal organizations and firms, political organizations, non-profit fundraisers, film festivals, corporate events, conferences, and in comedy clubs across the nation and all over the world.

Kreisler's first book, Get Rich Cheating is the definitive guide to the illegal, immoral, and fun, detailing the schemes that have proven time and time again to generate more cash than God, Google, and the Treasury combined. From accounting tricks to selling a Senate seat, audiences learn to (though aren't encouraged to attempt) how to:

    • Get huge government bailouts, blow them on yachts, and come back for more
    • Exploit family, friends, employees, the desperate, the weak, and the dumb
    • Take advantage of society's indifference, ignorance, and celebrity bling worship
    • Fake death and spend your ill-gotten booty sipping Mai-Tais on the beach

His hilarious, satirical how-to presentation uses real scams in business, sports, entertainment, and politics to show how we got into the mess we're in. But more than just a comedian's take on the state of the world, this is also a thoroughly researched look at contemporary cheating as told through some of its most successful participants. From Kenneth Lay to Bernie Madoff, Barry Bonds to Rod Blagojevich, he shares with audiences how to get rich cheating no matter what their focus -- highlighting examples of cheaters from all over society and showing how they got away with it by relying on the ignorance of others, scapegoating those around them, and capitalizing on a total lack of oversight and accountability. Fun, witty, and irreverent, Get Rich Cheating and its related presentation is for people who want to get ahead in life but are too lazy to put in the work.

Kreisler went to Princeton, Exeter, and Virginia Law, was an all-league football player, taught English in Russia, started a non-profit dedicated to at-risk youth, plays blues on the alto sax, has lived in New York City, San Francisco, Boston, and D.C., and, most of all, loves asparagus.
