From coast to coast, JD Williams has become widely known for his motivational message that delivers Practical Information with Powerful Inspiration. It is a message born out of JD’s personal struggles and one his audiences relate to in their own lives. If being born in the low-income part of Atlanta was not enough to overcome in itself, JD Williams had one more challenge to deal with - he was unusually short. And with this challenge of being physically shorter than his peers came JD’s cry for improved self-confidence.
The seed of confidence he sought was first planted when he heard the inspirational song “The Greatest Love Of All”. It was watered by his loving grandfather who often told him he would one day be great. The seed grew daily in high school as he viewed the inspirational quotes posted on the walls written by Martin Luther King’s mentor Dr. Benjamin E. Mays. It was then fertilized by the motivation of his Marine Corps drill instructors and was nourished by the motivational books of Tony Robbins, Napoleon Hill, Og Mandino, and Norman Vincent Peale. The seed of confidence sprouted and the seedling finally broke the surface of destiny when he heard the motivational speaking of the legendary Zig Ziglar. It was then he discovered his purpose– to inspire the world as a speaker.
After serving honorably as a U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant during Operation Desert Storm, JD Williams earned a B.A. degree in Applied Behavioral Science from the National-Louis University in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1995, JD earned the Dale Carnegie Highest Achievement Award for Presentations and went on to become certified as a Dale Carnegie Instructor.
JD then formed his own company and over 1500 presentations later he has inspired and moved employees and managers to action in ways highly acclaimed by numerous Fortune 500 and government clients as well. He has presented in many nations and his clients include such organizations as Coca Cola, UPS, AT&T, IBM, Wal-Mart, NASA, the CIA, U.S. Attorney’s office, U.S. Senate, U.S Department of Education, and the United States Marine Corps.
His passion to equip people to succeed is not limited to his live presentations but extends to his published materials which includes his inspirational book “Parables of Success” as well as his time-management video “How to Get Things Done.”
