Indra Nooyi is chairman and chief executive officer of PepsiCo, which operates in some 200 countries and employs about 185,000 people worldwide. The company's commitment to sustainable growth, defined by Mrs. Nooyi as Performance with Purpose, is focused on achieving business and financial success while making a positive imprint on society. Performance with Purpose includes nourishing consumers with a range of products from treats to healthy eats; replenishing the environment through water, energy and packaging initiatives; and supporting employees through a diverse and inclusive culture that recruits, retains, develops and cherishes world-class talent. Prior to becoming Chairman and CEO, Mrs. Nooyi served PepsiCo in a variety of roles including President and Chief Financial Officer, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer as well as Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Development.
Before joining PepsiCo in 1994, Mrs. Nooyi held senior positions with Asea Brown Boveri, Motorola and the Boston Consulting Group. Mrs. Nooyi began her career in India, where she held product manager positions at Johnson & Johnson and at Mettur Beardsell, Ltd., a textile firm.
Mrs. Nooyi serves as a member of the boards of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the International Rescue Committee and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City. She is a Successor Fellow of Yale Corporation, member of the Board of Trustees of Eisenhower Fellowships and member of the Executive Committee of the Trilateral Commission.
She holds a BS from Madras Christian College in Madras, an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management in Calcutta and a Master of Public and Private Management from Yale University. Mrs. Nooyi is married and has two daughters.
