A graduate of the University of the Pacific, Dr. Perry received his doctorate in counseling psychology in 1980 where he was also awarded the title of UOP Alumni Fellow in 1986. He is Board Certified by the American Psychotherapy Association.

Dr. Perry has served on many boards and presently sits on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of Southern California. In 2008, he was awarded the President's Volunteer Service Award from the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation.
