With a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of New Orleans, Doug learned the dynamics of successful business communication and marketing from the ground up in the real estate industry. At just 28 years old, his trade association recognized him as a Life Member of the Million Dollar Club for superior sales productivity. Later, as owner of one of the largest real estate brokerages in New Orleans (annual sales of $30 Million), he gained practical experience in successful leadership, management, team building, and priorities juggling. He founded Doug Smart Seminars in 1992.
To stay current, Doug is a member of Meeting Professionals International and the National Speakers Association. He is a past president of New Orleans Toastmasters. The National Speakers Association has given Doug it's highest earned designation, CSP (Certified Speaking Professional). Less than 400 people in the world have earned the CSP.
