Don Cooper is an award-winning speaker, author, and consultant who delivers interactive programs that attendees call "powerful," "entertaining," "practical" and "inspiring!" He speaks to a wide variety of groups ranging from the American Business Women's Association to NASA. His consulting clients include entrepreneurs, company presidents, and political candidates Don is the author of The Little Black Book for Doing Business in Metropolitan Washington (1998, Double Ruby Press), a comprehensive guidebook for companies that do business or would like to do business in the Washington, D.C. area. He is a regular columnist for Small Business News Washington, a contributing editor for Money, Marketing & More and a contributing writer for Doc's Daily Dosage, an online newsletter with thousands of subscribers around the world. Don is an adjunct professor at the University of Virginia for their Small Business Management program. He has also done work for George Mason University. Don is a member of the National Speakers Association and the International Federation for Professional Speakers and serves on the Executive Committee of the National Capital Speakers Association. For several years, Don worked at two of the top Domino's Pizza outlets in the world, where he had responsibilities for training, management, and customer service. Later, he put those same skills to use for Courier ONE, a Washington area delivery company, as a part owner. He also became a skilled marketer and salesman. Under his leadership, the company grew by an average of 38% a year. In 1994, Don founded the Northern Virginia Chapter of the American Association of Home-Based Businesses, a nation-wide, non-profit organization which supports and encourages home-based businesses. He went on to serve two terms as its president and currently serves as the national organization's Special Projects Director. Having spent over a decade in marketing, sales, management, training and customer service for both profit and non-profit organizations, Don brings real-world experience to his high-energy, high-content presentations.
