At the age of 11 Desi ran away from a troubled home to live with his grandmother who, from the beginning, believed that Desi was something special. Through her love and direction, he was given the faith to believe in himself. She convinced his father to invest in a good education by sending Desi to Christian Brothers Military Academy . . .and it was a wise investment!
Desi was a member of the National Honor Society, Who’s Who Among American High School Students, captain of the football team, and voted the school’s most outstanding athlete. Desi learned the value of setting goals early in life. He was recruited by over 30 major colleges and chose to attend the University of Minnesota, where he was a Williams Scholar and co-captain of the football team. Desi continues to be active in the counseling of student athletes.
Since college, he has devoted his time to specializing in sales and marketing -- and has been a peak performer with powerhouse companies such as Johnson & Johnson, Johnson Wax Company, Rain Bird Sprinkler Manufacturing, and Pepsico. At Pepsico, in addition to responsibility for running a $60M business, he was a company spokesman and a leader in the organization’s leadership and diversity initiatives.
Today, Desi is not only a renowned keynote speaker, but also a commercial model, actor and singer. He also owns a successful real estate investment company. Thousands of people -- from Fortune 500 employees college athletes, members of civic organizations and trade associations -- have benefited from Desi’s powerful messages. . . in all areas of their lives.
