Deepak Sharma is Chairman of Citi Private Bank. Before taking on this role in April 2009, Deepak was Chief Executive Officer of Global Wealth Management - International. He is a member of Citi's Senior Leadership Committee.
Deepak joined Citi in 1976 as a management associate in India. His career has spanned different functional and geographical areas across the Citi global franchise. These include management positions in Operations and Technology, Treasury, Strategic Planning, Electronic Banking, The Citi Private Bank, and Investment Management. He has worked with Citi in India, Korea, Saudi Arabia, the U.S., and Switzerland prior to his current assignment in Asia.
Deepak is the co-founder and trustee of Indiapore Trust, a fund to benefit children's education across Asia. He is also a trustee of Singapore Indian Development Association (SINDA), a self-help group whose primary focus is to reach out and empower low-income families to stand on their own feet. He is a board member of the Singapore Tyler Print Institute, a non-profit organization that promotes artists in Asia and globally, and a member of the Management Board of the Middle East Institute.
Deepak received his graduate degree in chemistry and his master's in business administration from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
