    David Weinberger: Profile
In presentations remarkable for their richness of ideas as well as for their humor, Dr. David Weinberger shows audiences that - despite the coming and going of dot-com mania - we have only begun to understand how the Web is transforming business and the world around it. "If the Web is a journey 1,000 miles long," says Dr. Weinberger, "we've barely begun to pack our bags."

He brings truly unique credentials to the task of "unpacking the Web." He is a co-author of the runaway bestseller The Cluetrain Manifesto, which InformationWeek called "the most important business book since Tom Peters' In Search of Excellence."

His new book, Small Pieces Loosely Joined, is a remarkable exploration of how the Web is rewriting the most basic understanding of ourselves and the real world, and is already being compared to the work of Marshall McLuhan.

He is a frequent commentator on National Public Radio's "All Things Considered," and is a columnist for KMWorld, Internet.com, and Darwin Magazine. His work has appeared in many magazines, ranging from Harvard Business Review to the New York Times to Wired.

As well as writing about the way the Web is changing business and society, Dr. Weinberger has been an active participant, working for, founding and consulting with companies from F500’s to early-stage start-ups in the new market space. Oddly, he has a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Toronto and taught college for six years. Dr. Weinberger is on various industry and company boards, and speaks around the world about the Web’s impact on business and culture.

Dr. David Weinberger turns this remarkable range of experience and knowledge to the most important question facing every business today: How is technology changing the way my employees, partners and customers are putting themselves together, and how is that changing the basics of my business?

    The answer will surprise you.
