Dave Schwensen

    Dave Schwensen: Profile
Dave Schwensen has designed and instructs courses in Business Communications and Presentation Skills for Cleveland State University, Youngstown State University and other "halls of higher learning." As a talent representative and entertainment consultant, he has planned and scheduled events for corporations, professional associations, social groups, colleges & universities, theaters and festivals. He has been a professional speaker, consultant, trainer and workshop leader since 1994.

Dave is the author of How To Be A Working Comic: An Insider's Guide To A Career In Stand-Up Comedy, (Back Stage Books, NYC), and Comedy FAQs And Answers: How The Stand-Up Biz Really Works, (Allworth Press, NYC).

Though not a stand-up comedian, his insider's knowledge of the entertainment industry was earned as Talent Coordinator for the television show, A&E's An Evening At The Improv, and the legendary Improv Comedy Clubs in Hollywood and New York City. While in this capacity he also acted as a comedian consultant for many television and film productions. Included in this list are The Tonight Show, Late Night with David Letterman, The Today Show, Comedy Central, HBO, MTV, Disney, Paramount and other major television networks and film studios. As a nationally recognized humor and comedy coach, Dave's workshops are sold-out events from New York and Philadelphia to Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Dave is an award-winning humor columnist and entertainment journalist with articles published in the United States, Canada and Japan. His reviews, interviews and behind the scenes exclusives have included entertainers such as Paul McCartney, Bill Cosby, Britney Spears, Ray Romano, Garth Brooks and too many other celebrities in what is meant to be a short introductory bio!

A pop culture historian, his third book, The Beatles In Cleveland: Memories, Facts & Photos About The Notorious 1964 & 1966 Concerts, (North Shore Publishing), has landed on numerous best seller lists, including the national Top Forty on Amazon.com for Biographies & Memoirs, Composers & Musicians, and the Number One position for Items Sold In Northern Ohio. For a magical history journey back into 1960s pop culture, Dave offers entertaining, energetic and often humorous, (see his above books as reference for that final descriptive term!), program titled Beatlemania On The North Coast that includes a rare memorabilia and concert films of The Beatles.

Tired of making his hometown a vacation spot every year, Dave relocated from Hollywood to the South Shore of Lake Erie. His current inspiration and frequent cast of characters for his award-winning weekly newspaper column, Something To Laugh About, include his wife Debutant Deb, sons Dangerous Paul and Chaos Kevin, and a large dog named Snickers who is fond of eating television remote controls.

His fourth book, Father's Days... And Nights: Humorous Tales from the Frontlines of Fatherhood, (North Shore Publishing), is a compilation of twenty columns from Something To Laugh About.
