    Charlie Hawkins: Profile
Author of First Aid for Meetings

Charlie Hawkins has been closely associated with some of the most innovative products and marketing concepts of our time, including Bounty Towels, Mennen Skin Bracer, Dr Pepper and others. Today, as a nationally recognized expert in the areas of creativity and communications, he consults with organizations who want to stay ahead of the innovation curve, and with people who want to sell their ideas more effectively to others. Charlie shares his insights in keynotes, workshops and retreats.

He started his business career in brand management at Procter & Gamble, where he was part of the marketing team that took Bounty Towels from test marketing into national leadership. At the Mennen Company, Charlie managed the Skin Bracer line, during the time when "Thanks, I Needed That!" became part of the national vocabulary. At Sunshine Biscuits, he was director of marketing, overseeing successful efforts to revitalize a product line that had lost its focus. He later served as VP marketing services at Dr Pepper Company, directing the efforts of the acclaimed "Be a Pepper" campaign.

Charlie started Seahawk Associates in 1989, providing consulting and training services to Fortune 500 firms, small businesses, associations and professional services firms. He is in frequent demand as a speaker and facilitator for high-level conferences and meetings. He has conducted presentation skills workshops for MBA candidates at the University of Chicago and Northern Arizona University.

He is the author of First Aid for Meetings, a complete guide to running highly productive meetings in less time, and Turn On the Idea Machine, a blueprint for inspired innovation.

Charlie served as the 2000-2001 president of National Speakers Association, Arizona Chapter, and was a board member and officer of Chamber Music Sedona for six years.

On a personal note, Charlie plays many "roles": hiker, tennis player, chef, singer, drummer, volunteer facilitator, husband, father and grandfather. Some of each of these roles usually shows up in Charlie's workshops and presentations.
