Since leading the 1984 US Men's Gymnastics Team to its first-ever Olympic Gold Medal, Peter Vidmar has been helping people throughout the country realize their own potential. By using his Olympic preparation and experiences, he motivates others to put forth the extra effort required to succeed in business and in life. As Peter says, "Everyone works hard when they want to, when they get quick results. Only the best work hard when they don't want to, when it's inconvenient to give that 'little extra.' And that's usually what puts them on top." Peter performs various routines on the pommel horse to drive his message home. He demonstrates the three components of a perfect score in gymnastics - Risk, Originality and Virtuosity (ROV) - and discusses how they apply to success in life. Much more than just a motivational speaker or trade show presenter, Peter Vidmar brings something unique and refreshing to the corporate arena. No doubt that's why Successful Meeting Magazine has listed him among the top ten corporate speakers in America. Motivational Presentations Peter Vidmar has traveled throughout the world giving motivational presentations, with a long list of clients ranging from Disney to Nestle to Xerox. He has helped company after company use the concept of ROV to motivate employees, improve morale, and encourage new ways of thinking. After one of Peter's presentations, a large pharmaceutical company launched their own ROVE (Risk, Originality, Virtuosity - Everyday) campaign within their sales force. They asked their salespeople to write down instances where employees had taken a chance, done something innovative, or showed exceptional service. The ROVE award at the end of the year was the highest award given to their salespeople and the program was a big success. When doing another presentation for a large telecommunications company, Peter walked into the ballroom to find large banners draped on the walls defining Risk, Originality and Virtuosity. Everyone in the audience had an ROV T-shirt and were divided into teams based on the color of the shirt. After Peter's presentation, they competed in a Corporate Olympics. One of the strengths of Peter's presentation is that there are many ways to extend and reinforce the messages he conveys. The take-home value is very high. Several companies have arranged for giveaways such as plaques, medals, ROV mementos, and posters or photographs autographed by Peter Vidmar. The more memorable a motivational presentation, the more likely it is to cause lasting change. Trade Show Presentations At most trade shows, there are so many booths competing for attention that it's difficult to attract a crowd. Fortunately, some companies have had the foresight to use Peter Vidmar. An autograph session with an Olympic athlete is enough to bring people in. But add to that a world-class gymnastics demonstration and you've got a sure show stopper. Peter has attracted thousands of people to exhibits for IBM, Sun Microsystems, Bellsouth, 3M, M & M Mars and others. For example, at the Oracle Parallel Servers Convention at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, Peter performed parallel bars routines for Sun Microsystems. (Of course, that's after he spent months practicing, because the pommel horse is his specialty.) The crowds at the booth were so large they started spilling over into other exhibits. Through creative displays and performances at trade shows, Peter Vidmar can help organizations build an awareness of the keys to success and instill a standard of excellence.
