Our Family Has Cancer, Too!


When the author underwent treatment for breast cancer, she felt supported by friends and family. One thing was missing, however-humor. She needed a good laugh! This book is aimed at children who are struggling with cancer in their family. With cartoons by Lindstrom (who draws a syndicated strip as well), Clifford tells her story from the perspective of her sons. Despite tears and fears, funny things still happen. Clifford gives young kids permission to cry and laugh. Questions for family discussion are included. This slim volume would make a good companion gift along with Not now...I'm having a No Hair Day, which tells Clifford's story from the adult point of view (with many of the same cartoons and anecdotes).
