The best advice I got a couple of years ago is to start speaking for free - no matter how good you already think you are. You can break your 6 hour seminar into 12 different half hour talks. Pick one or two of them and contact local groups about presenting to them. Your Chamber of Commerce probably has a list of contacts that can help you. This will give you practice and exposure. Many of the meetings are at night so you can keep your day job while you build your speaking business. Good luck.
